2020 New Year's Eve Celebrations In Savannah Georgia
5 Ways To Welcome In The New Decade In Savannah
New Year's Eve is almost upon us and if you are in or around Savannah for the evening your most difficult decision will be deciding how you'd like to spend it. Savannah has so much to offer in regards to entertainment, but to help you welcome in the New Year in style, we've come up with five suggestions guaranteed to make it an evening to remember.
Visit City Market New Years Eve Block Party
City Market, also known as 'the art and soul of Savannah', becomes party central every New Year's Eve. Crowds gather to enjoy live music played throughout the evening on one of the outdoor stages. The bands are both local and better-known musicians playing a wide selection of music genres. All the restaurants are open for those of you looking to tingle your taste buds too but do remember to make a reservation beforehand as they tend to get very busy and booked up.
Head To River Street
Spending New Year's Eve in historic River Street promises to give you memories you will treasure forever. Rousakis Plaza comes alive on New Year's Eve offering a selection of live music, games, and entertainment. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming and as the countdown starts at midnight, Up The Cup begins. A 6 foot 'to go' cup is raised and fireworks illuminate the river as the first day of the New Year begins.
Take A Savannah Riverboat Cruise
A fantastic and unique way to see in the New Year is to take a cruise along the Savannah River. If the idea of partying on the river appeals to you then the New Years' Eve Party cruise could be just the thing. The cruise lasts for three hours and offers Hors d' oeuvres, entertainment, party favors, and a cash bar. This cruise is for over 21's only and you will need to make a reservation.
If you fancy getting dressed up in formal cocktail attire then the New Years' Eve Gala Cruise would be ideal. This cruise also lasts for three hours and includes Hors d' oeuvres, an elaborate dinner buffet, a bottle of wine or champagne, live entertainment, party favors, cash bars and lots more. It's necessary to make a reservation as this fashionable cruise is very popular.
Party In A Speakeasy At The American Prohibition Museum
Congress Street Up Speakeasy, which is located on the top floor of The American Prohibition Museum, hosts a free New Years' Eve party that's great fun in amazing surroundings. The museum itself hosts a variety of artifacts and displays from the era when alcohol was banned and a speakeasy is a name given for an illegal bar selling alcohol during this period, which makes the venue even more interesting. This party will allow you to get dressed up, enjoy a variety of live entertainment, try lots of unique cocktails and drinks and if you get hungry there will even be some light, tasty eats provided. There is no need to make a reservation but arriving early is a good idea so that you can get a table to seat your group.
Watch The Fireworks On Tybee Island
Celebrating the New Year on the beach and watching one of the biggest fireworks displays in Southeastern U.S is another unique way to enjoy the evening with family and friends. As from the stroke of midnight, fireworks are set off from Tybee pier and the display can be seen from any of Tybee's eastern beaches.
As you can see Savannah is a wonderful place to see in the New Year and whatever you decide to do it's guaranteed to be lots of fun.
