3 Amazing Ways to Spend Valentine's Day in Savannah
Valentine's day is quickly approaching, and we’re blessed with a wide range of activities in our local area that can provide you and your significant other with a day to remember. We’ve searched high and low to find what we think are 3 of the best ways to celebrate February 14th in Savannah this year.
Let’s get started.
1.) Savannah Riverboat Cruises
Savannah Riverboat Cruises return this year with their annual Valentine's day cruise event. As you’d expect it’s a magical evening spent aboard a stunning cruise ship as you gently meander down the Savannah River. You’ll board the ship at around 6 pm for a departure time of 7 pm. Once you’re out on the open water you’ll be treated to a gourmet 4-course meal with a wide range of delicacies and treats from all over the world on offer.
You’ll be washing all of this delicious food down with excellent wine and champagne (sitting next to your personal freshly cut rose bouquet) as you watch the sunset while being serenaded by the onboard live entertainment. The whole event lasts about 2 hours, and you’ll be back on dry land by 9 pm. Tickets cost $199.90 per couple, and advance reservations are strongly recommended - it’s a super popular Valentine’s day activity for a very good reason. In fact, it’s so popular Savannah Riverboat Cruises run the event on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of February to give more lucky couples the chance to experience this truly special way to celebrate Valentine’s day.
2.) Renew Your Vows In Savannah City Market
The vow renewals ceremony that takes place each year in the beautiful surroundings of the Savannah City Market is quickly becoming a Valentine's day tradition that locals and visitors alike want to take part in. Join countless other couples as you reconfirm your love for one another by renewing your vows in the Savannah City Market courtyard, led by Rev. William Hester.
After the vow renewal prizes will be awarded (all supplied by local vendors) to celebrate couples who have reached certain milestones (eg: The longest married couple, or the couple with the most children). It’s a magical day that’ll be one to remember for years to come.
Note: Due to the wet and rather unpredictable nature of our current weather, if it’s a rainy day a nearby indoor location will be announced closer to the date.
3.) A Romantic Dinner
While it’s also nice to sometimes stay indoors and cook a special feast for your loved one on Valentine’s day, there’s no beating a candlelit dinner at a romantic restaurant. Luckily for residents of our local area, there’s a wide range of stunning restaurants which are more than suitable for an intimate and romantic meal. Here are just a few of our recommendations:
Nobel Fare: This exquisite (and small) restaurant is one of the most elegant places to eat in the whole state. You’ll be served stunning seasonal French and American cuisine in a historic building with an unmistakably cozy and intimate atmosphere. Reservations are strongly recommended
Belford’s Savannah: Belford’s (located in Savannah City Market) is well known for providing some of the best seafood and steaks in town. For Valentine’s day they’re once again creating a romantic ambiance with their annual candlelit dinner that is more than worthy of your consideration. Again, reservations are strongly recommended.
Olde Pink House: The quality of food served at the restaurant in Olde Pink House is only surpassed by the stunning nature of the historical building and decor that you’ll be dining in. It’s a highly popular venue throughout the year, and it may be hard to get a table for Valentine’s day - but it’s certainly worth calling to see if they have availability.
