Santa's On His Way! Holiday Happenings In Savannah & Pooler Georgia
Whether indoors or outdoors, children and their parents can discover the holiday spirit! Here are some happenings in Savannah and Pooler Georgia that you will not want to miss out on:
Pooler Christmas Fest: The Trisha Cook Team
This a free event and everyone is welcome to attend. Amenities include free photos with Santa, a bounce house and face painting, Chazitos Food Truck, local vendor booths, giveaways and more. Visitors are asked to bring dog food or monetary donations to support the SD Gunner Fund. The event will be held this Sunday December 8th from 1-4pm at 920 Morgans Corner Road in Pooler!
Savannah Children's Theater: A Charlie Brown Christmas
Many parents grew up watching the original Charlie Brown Christmas movie with their parents and they have shared it with their children, too. It's a Christmas tradition for many families. Now, parents can share it differently. The live production of A Charlie Brown Christmas at the Savannah Children's Theatre brings the characters to life. Children get to enjoy watching their favorite characters, played by local children, dance and sing on the stage in a re-enactment of a classic Christmas show.
The Jingle Bell Block Hop
Savannah Holly Days hosts a party for young and old with live performances to be enjoyed by everyone in the family. There is singing and dancing and the whole family can take part in activities for fun and learning. Live performances include those by the Off Broadway Dance Studio, The Ballet School, and even a selection of festive music from DJ Master Jaime. It's the kind of fun that has no age boundaries.
The Savannah Santa Train
Hosted by the Georgia State Railroad Museum and the Savannah Children's Museum, the Santa Train is an event the people look forward to each year. There is always something exciting for everyone. Caroling and building a holiday wonderland are fun for everyone. There are also crafts to purchase, a station to make cards for hospital patients, and even the chance to learn about local cultural celebrations. Children can learn from STEM activities and go for a holiday-themed ride on a diesel locomotive. Of course, Santa is also available for a visit.
Christmas On The River & Lighted Parade
Everyone enjoys the lights of the holiday season and the parade and lights on the river are a great way to do this. Adults and children will be in awe of the spectacular light show of the parade. The Savannah Waterfront Association gets into the Christmas spirit for a full weekend with displays, entertainment and music, food booths, and more.
A Christmas Tradition
It's the most wonderful time of the year when The Historic Savannah Theatre puts on its production of A Christmas Tradition. The 2-hour performance takes place in a theater that is transformed into a holiday wonder. Standard songs that are a part of every Christmas are enjoyed by all. Comedy skits will make you laugh. Audience participation is even encouraged in some segments of the show. It's the kind of evening that will make everyone talk long after it is over.
The City Market Christmas For Kids Celebration
For many kids, getting to do hands-on activities is important and The City Market Christmas For Kids Celebration allows them to do just that. They can choose from activities like making Christmas ornaments or decorating cookies, getting their face painted, or jumping in the moon bounce. There is a petting zoo where children can get up close and personal with the animals. They can also do quieter activities like listening to a storyteller or getting their photo taken with Father Christmas.
Our community is beautiful at any time of the year; however, at Christmas, it comes alive with the excitement of the season. Families with children of all ages will enjoy all of these activities and more.
